In order of popularity from 1-10...
Jacob Hebrew "he who supplants" A perfectly good name (and Noah's middle name) but it's held the #1 spot since 1999. I'm thinking there may be a few too many Jacobs out there at this point.
Ethan Hebrew "strong, firm" When the Gustavsons moved in next door, I think I asked Ethan what his name was about 12 times before it finally stuck in my head. I suppose with all the Ethans out there these days, John is more likely to sound like a name from outer space.
Michael Hebrew "who is like God?" Michelle's not even in the top 100 anymore and Michael is #3!
Alexander Greek "defending warrior" I personally love the name Alexander, but maybe I'll leave that for my Alexander cousins to use à la Ryan Ryan style.
William English from German "resolute protection"
Joshua Hebrew "the Lord is salvation"
Daniel Hebrew "God is my judge"
Jayden Hebrew "God has heard" This spelling was popularized by Brittany Spears. So yeah, we won't be using it.
Noah Hebrew "rest" or "wandering" So we both love the name Noah but it's gotten to the point that when we go out and hear a woman shouting "Noah!" we both look up. Noah probably feeling like a rockstar with hysterical fans shouting his name, and me wondering "Who is this woman yelling at my husband?!" And then we realize it's just the mother of another little kid named Noah...they seem to be everywhere.
Anthony Latin "priceless one"
